Why you’re super safe car actually makes you less safe. Cars they’re great for long-distance travel but they’re an objectively terrible way to get around the city. Ok well do you love traffic because the average driver spend one workweek year stuck in traffic. If we can fix that lot less traffic is to build more roads that would be great if it works but it’s the roads that cause the traffic. It’s a concept called induced demand here check out. Historically every time we build more roads traffic has gone up by an identical amount we can’t build our way out of the traffic problem cars equal traffic. Cars are inherently unsafe no only bad drivers have car accidents.

I’m fine because I’m a good driver. yeah you and everyone else. Ninety percent of drivers say they’re better than average that’s impossible. People who think that they’re good drivers who are actually the worst drivers.
Most accidents are caused by an inattention and you pay the least amount of attention to the road when you’re confident which is also where most accidents are caused on clear signing roads into sober drivers.

Well this car is super safe it’s like I’m driving a spaceship by the super smart computer. The car itself is still controlled by a human unreliable and easily distracted system. Actually you missed the sign this area is a host crossing and maybe you missed it because your car is too safe. Studies have shown that modern cars and roads that make us feel secure causes to unconsciously compensate and drive more dangerously. It’s a big part of why tens of thousands of Americans died on the road every year.

Okay but when I’m in this baby I’m free, it’s just me and the open road and then you’re free all right as long as you keep paying for insurance, fuel, registration and repairs. So hope you have a job while you’re on the open road. The average car cost nine thousand dollars a year just to own, now that you can afford that but a lot of people can’t. The average American family spent twenty percent of their income on transportation that’s more than we spend on food and for the poorest Americans it’s thirty-two percent. Car ownership is a tremendous burden on the working poor.

Yeah hey guys we help homeless families go from homelessness to self efficiency, to permanent housing and everything in between but you might telling us  what your experience with you know automobiles in them. Yeah transportation is a big issue with our families. Car ownership can actually set in backwards. So how does the car make you go backwards. We had one client that was pain over eighty percent of her income on a car. She thought it was more important to have a car than even a home because if she ended up homeless and she had a car to sleep in and that had been our experience before coming to door hope. Families needed car just to get to work or to be able to get around the city but sometimes to make a car payment they’ll sacrifice their rent payment or food or even the basic essentials for the children.

 

 

Transportation is a fundamental human need the fact that we built our entire country so that everyone in it has to buy and maintain one of these things just to move around their own community it’s a genuine tragedy. Their monstrously expensive you have to deal with a psychologically manipulative charlatan just to buy one and we are so bad at driving them that there’s an entirely different predatory industry based around the fact that we constantly crash these things and die.

You’re talking about the insurance industry right? Yes what really kills me about all of this is the only reason we’re stuck with this cluster fudge is because we were tricked into building roads instead of subways a hundred years ago. The dominance of the car is a massive cultural mistake.

How Cars Killed Our City

We needed cars to get around, actually we already had a fast efficient way to get around the city the streetcar. At the time almost every major city had them but the automobile killed them. A single streetcar can carry dozens of pedestrians but according to the passengers in their own car and they take up a hundred square feet each and that means one thing. Traffic once the roads are gridlocked the old reliable streetcar became too slow to be effective and that was the death of public transportation in America.

 

Well once cars were the only way to get from place to place. We rebuilt our entire Cities around them. and that’s when things really took a turn for the worse. We started bulldozing entire neighborhoods to build urban highways and in some cities parking lots now take up a quarter of all the available lands. All the space use just restore cars while they’re asleep.

In a city designer on public transportation speak to be full of homes and businesses and you could walk from place to place but in most of our cities and suburbs everything is so spread apart that nothing is within walking distance. Giving you no choice but to drive and it didn’t have to be this way. We could have built walkable cities based on public transportation like Western Europe and Japan did but we miss that chance and now you have to have a car to get around.

Why We Hate Car Dealership

People are like vultures I hate care dealership and you hate them even more after you know the truth about them. If you have car you have freedom however, how come you have freedom when you have no choice where you buy them.

Why is it that if you want a new car you have to go to one of these awful dealerships. So why do we buy cars this way? Like why is it dealership only sell one brand of car? What if every business worked like that?  Why can’t you just go to a car store and buy whatever brand of car you want for a fixed price. And why can’t you buy a car online?

 

 

 

 

Why isn’t that how we buy cars? because that would be crazy mean can you imagine such a world of boy. Man this guy he sure is funny. It would be great when I can’t do that because these guys got a law passed to stop you. Dealerships aren’t owned by the carmaker’s their separate businesses and since the thirties dealership associations have pressured every state in the passing franchise laws that give them a virtual monopoly over new car sales.

 

 

These laws actually make it illegal to sell new cars unless your car dealership and you want to become a dealer too bad it’s also illegal to open a new dealership in another dealer territory. The law also makes it nearly impossible for carmakers to shutdown dealerships even when they suck which means they end up getting passed from father to son like family dynasties. Since they have no competition and no oversight car dealers are free to force you to haggle and treat you like crap.

So it’s a lame live let’s change it, that’ll be tough twenty percent of state sales tax revenue comes from car dealerships which means create more buddies pretty much run the show. All these middlemen do is cost you money. It’s estimated that if car manufacturers could sell to consumers directly every car would be eighteen hundred dollars cheaper but because of dealer franchise laws you can’t avoid them. If you want a new car you have no choice but the only way to get around I need a car yeah so does everyone. Is not kind of weird that a product marketed as the epitome of freedom is totally mandatory.

Hidden Lies In Product Labels

Every time you go shopping, someone is trying to separate you from your money. That’s right, whether online or at the grocery store, companies will do anything to get you to buy their product even if it means lying. Whether adding false claims, incorrect nutritional information, or appealing to your patriotic side to buy domestic, it’s a no-holds-barred when it comes to accompany trying to sell you something. So put down that healthy pop drop, that fat-free creamer, because this is an article that reveals you a lot of companies don’t want you to see.

Antioxidants
Oxidation is a natural reaction of the body which can lead to damage cells. In order to counteract this scientists tell us to eat antioxidant-rich foods like fruits and vegetables. Companies everywhere jumped on this right away resulting in many products that promise powerful antioxidants even if they really aren’t any present. The best example of this is when cherry up claimed it had antioxidants. Sure cherries are loaded with them but considering the cherry flavoring in the sugary drink is largely artificial. It’s a giant advertising gimmick.

Trans-Fats
Too much fat is bad for you but trans fats are especially bad. Over the last several years, there has been a big push to get rid of this artery-clogging ingredients from everything. Looking to cash in on the hype, product makers are sure to advertise their goods as trans fat free. But don’t buy it. A loophole in government regulation means that a survey of something has 0.5 grams or less of trans-fat, it can be advertised as being trans fat-free. Worse yet, it can actually say right on the nutritional label that it is 0 grams. Thanks to the wonderful ability of rounding down the number.

Cholesterol-free
Like the fight against trans fats, many consumers are conscious of their cholesterol. Companies are aware of this and love to slap a cholesterol-free label on anything and everything. Just remember, cholesterol only comes from animal based products like meat, milk and eggs. Vegetable and fruit based products naturally contain no cholesterol. There’s a catch here, however. After all, while that giant bag of chips maybe cholesterol-free, that doesn’t mean it’s good for you because it still has lots of facts and salt.

Made With Real Sugar
You’ve probably been there, you know, staring at a product that advertise that it’s made with real or natural sugar. Such labels are added to bringing customers who want to cut the high-fructose corn syrup out of their diet. Such labels are meant to make you think the product is healthier for you. But think again, doctors anywhere will tell you that ultimately sugar is sugar and too much of the stuff can lead to all sorts of problems no matter what a package promises.

Organic
People see the organic label and they instantly think they are eating is healthier and more nutritious than regular food. That is not always the case. In fact, to be labeled as organic, a product only needs to have seventy percent organic ingredients and thirty percent could be synthetic or bathed and fertilizers and you wouldn’t even know it. Even to get the USDA Organic seal of approval of products can still have five percent of its ingredients that are non-organic. Only one hundred percent organic means one hundred percent organic.

Restaurants and other companies love to advertise their products as being made with whole grain. After all, it makes you feel good that you’re eating such a healthy thing but those claims are misleading. While they claim they use whole-grain just how much they use is left out. Look at the ingredient labels and in most cases, the primary ingredients are bleached or enriched with a tiny dash of whole grain so they can make the claim. The only way to be sure is to look for either the whole grain stamp of approval or check the ingredients for whole wheat or one hundred percent full-grain.

Politicians fight foreign companies love to advertise they sell products made by Americans for Americans. Such products are often covered by labels of U.S flags or print that says made in the USA. However, in many instances, these labels are deceiving and looking to cash in on your patriotism. Flip the package over and look on the back and you’ll see another label telling you the product was made somewhere else. How can this be? Well even if the product is foreign, if it’s assembled or put into a package in the US before sale, then technically it can be advertised as being American-made.

Natural
You have no doubt seen this one plastered all over everything at the store. Companies love to advertise their products is all-natural or made with natural ingredients. Sure some companies are telling the truth but for the most part, this is just a gimmick to make you buy a product thinking it’s something it’s not. What do we mean? Take natural peanut butter as an example, all peanut butter can claim this because peanuts are natural, they can even claim this after adding all sorts of oils and sweeteners because natural is an unregulated term.

Less Fat
This one is good right? After all, anything with less fat must be better for you. In this instance, however, it’s a case of fire beware the label maybe truthful and the company did manage to good portion of fat out. However, what they aren’t telling you is that in order to make the product not tastes like stale cardboard, they’ve had to add a bunch of sweeteners or salt to compensate. Ultimately, many less fat products have simply replaced one unhealthy ingredients for another.

This label is a classic and it should make you laugh when you see it because of the lie. How so? Ask yourself this. If  something is new, how can it possibly be improved at the same time? After all, a new product is just that it’s a brand spanking new product and nothing like it has ever existed before. Nuclear Power Plant – Safety Measures

Canada is home to several nuclear power plants located in Ontario Quebec and New Brunswick this video will help you learn more about the safety systems of these plants. Which are operated and maintained following strict rules established by Canada’s nuclear regulator we are the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission but first to get a better idea of how these safety systems fit in let’s look at how a nuclear power plant works all nuclear power plants in Canada.

A safe reliable reactor technology can do reactors produce electricity by splitting atoms of natural uranium to create heat the heat is then used to make steam to power the turbines and generators which produce electricity the uranium for nuclear fuel has been used in the reactor. Let’s take a closer look at each of these the heat transport system brings the heat produced by the reactor to the steam generators this system is made up of very robust pipes filled with heavy water a rare type of water found in nature pipes.
And other components are maintained and inspected regularly and replaced if needed inspections include measuring pipe wear and tear and identifying any microscopic cracks or changes well before they become a problem the second system the steam system uses normal water the heat from the reactor turns this water into steam to run the turbines and generators. That steam is then cooled and condensed using a third system that pumps in cold water from a body of water such as a lake or reservoir this is called the condenser cooling system like other components the steam and condenser cooling systems are regularly inspected a simpler cooling system is used when the reactor is shut down.

For an extended period for example during a planned outage it requires little power to function and is connected directly to the heat transport system in the unlikely event of a loss of heavy water which could for example be caused by a pipe break emergency injection systems. Would ensure water continues to circulate over the fuel to cool it emergency injection systems would work with pressurized tanks of nitrogen or pumps all plants. Have two or three injection systems a collection basin located in the basement of the reactor building would recover the water and pump it back into the reactor until repairs are made electricity is needed for all cooling systems.
